Jalapeno Lemonade

If you have never tried this, you are thinking this lemonade sounds weird, right? I had this drink at the Superbowl party I went to and I admit my first reaction was not to hurry up and try it. After the first sip, it was surprisingly yummy and not spicy at all. My kids loved it. It has the taste of a fresh, earthy, island beverage. The mix of jalapenos and lemons are really satisfying. Make sure the seeds are removed if you want to keep it mild though, unless your guests will prefer the spice.

1/2 cup sugar or Truvia

6 1/2 cup water

3/4 cup fresh lemon juice

2 jalapenos, stemmed and sliced with seeds

Combine sugar/stevia and 1/2 cup water in small saucepan. Simmer until sugar dissolves and liquid is clear, about 3 minutes.

Combine in pitcher with remaining water, lemon juice, and sliced jalapenos. Stir and refridgerate 1-3 hours. Strain or serve with jalapenos.

6 servings
